Escape to the Garden, Your Garden

The Great Garden Revolution, aired on Channel 4 this month, has seen millions tune in to get valuable insights into how we can make the most of the space we have around us, which has so far included inspiring makeovers and tailored seasonal approaches.

This week, social media influencer and trained horticulturist, Poppy Okotcha, leads the team of experts as they celebrate kitchen gardens and spaces where we can grow our own vegetables, herbs and fruit. During the making of this episode, Poppy spent some time at Provenance’s own private kitchen garden at Mount St John in Felixkirk, North Yorkshire. Being keen to embrace all things seasonal, Poppy explored how the MSJ gardening team meticulously plan and harvest the finest, freshest kitchen ingredients, not to mention the work they undertake to encourage the most aesthetic display of flowering plants throughout the year.

Poppy, an ecologically-focused grower has a mission to inspire people to engage with, and connect to, the natural world. She has been joined each week by designer Joel Bird and craftsman Bruce Kenneth as they provide endless tips, builds and ideas to encourage viewers to make the most of their gardens, whatever size or shape they are. Poppy is also a regular contributor to Gardener’s World (BBC Two). She is currently focussed on creating her own edible and medicinal garden, at her new home in Devon.

Want to see how you can transform your natural space and feed both mind and body with the finest of ingredients? Then don’t miss this weekend’s kitchen garden special. The Great Gardening Revolution concludes at 7pm Saturday 22 May. All episodes can be found on All4.com.
